GLIMR
Common questions
SAMPLE isn't recording.
The first press asks for microphone access. If you chose Don't Allow, open Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone and turn GLIMR on. GLIMR also waits until it hears a sound before it starts, so make your sound close to the phone.
My sample sounds out of tune.
GLIMR detects each sound's pitch, but noisy sounds like claps or scrapes may not have a clear one. Tap EDIT, then ROOT, and set the note yourself.
How long can a sample be?
Up to five seconds. Short sounds work best: a pluck, a hit, a syllable. Like tape, higher notes play shorter and lower notes play longer.
Where are my recordings?
Tap the folder button, then Recordings. Open a take to share the strings, the drums or the MIDI, or export everything to the Files app.
Does it work with AirPods?
Yes. GLIMR always records from the built-in microphone, so Bluetooth headphones keep full-quality sound while you play.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. It plays in landscape.
Is there a subscription?
No. You pay once and everything is yours. No account, no ads.
